ABOUT OUR ACADEMY
Building Foundations Learning Academy (BFLA) is a learning academy dedicated to educating Atlanta’s 21st-century learners. Opened since 2008, the center has been preparing youth to become future leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators and community servants both home and abroad. The academy is designed to take young minds’ neighborhood experiences and transform them into fun, relatable lessons about worlds outside of their norm with the guidance of certified educators. Providing Quality Rated childcare, BFLA’s highly rated programs and customized curriculum caters from gifted to special needs students. While staying aligned with the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards, the academy also includes opportunities for toddlers and preschoolers to engage in extracurricular activities that explore science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
ABOUT OUR SERVICES
INFANTS
Children as young as 6 weeks are nurtured by our caring staff. Our goal is to make them feel as comfortable as they do at home.
Our teachers guide and encourage our infants as they develop fine and gross motor skills, bloom cognitively, emerge in self-help skills and initiate communication.
Our infants explore in safe play areas with lots of tummy time and the staff's watchful eyes to make sure they are safe and sound during their stay.
We incorporate the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards to build out the infant lesson plans to ensure they are meeting all of their developmental milestones.
TODDLERS
Every day is an adventure in the toddler room. From group play to learning to cooperate with each other, this is a time when children hit their stride, begin to discover who they are and really thrive. Our skilled teachers help toddlers grasp basic concepts and learning lessons while using the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards in addition to our curriculum.
This also is the time that a child's independence really starts to flourish. Our skilled staff teaches self-help skills and toilet train our older toddlers. Alongside those skills, our toddler teachers also teach our tots to care for their surroundings, serve themselves and enhance their language skills.
PRESCHOOL
Our preschool children's experience includes exciting classroom lessons, personalized homework materials and extracurricular activities. This age group learns advanced techniques to ensure they're kindergarten-ready.
Our preschool curriculum is a combination of the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards, and our curriculum. Our experienced preschool teachers pride themselves on teaching early reading skills, language and fine motor development. We conduct assessments regularly to ensure that our preschoolers are hitting all of their academic, physical and social/emotional milestones.
As our preschoolers become more autonomous, we encourage more detailed self-help skills.
